The Regional Arts Australia biennial conference is Australia’s most awaited and largest regional arts event. Held in different destinations across Australia, each conference is a unique blend of part conference part festival - all art that reflect and celebrate the host community.
The conference has seen tremendous growth since its inception in 1998 with more than triple the number of delegates attending the previous conference Art at the Heart held at Alice Springs in 2008. The conference hosted by the Northern Territory government was attended by 1000 delegates, 192 conference presenters and 254 festival artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and geographic areas.

- 2004: Meeting Place, Horsham, Victoria, hosted by Regional Arts Victoria, 600 delegates
- 2002: Groundswell, Albury, Woodonga, New South Wales, hosted by Regional Arts NSW, 570 delegates
- 2000: Making Waves, Esperance, Western Australia, hosted by Country Arts WA, 450 delegates
- 1998: A Changing Landscape, Mt Gambier in South Australia, hosted by Country Arts SA, 380 delegates
